Care Assistant - Clonlee Nursing Home
Purpose
To provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care for our residents, ensuring dignity, respect, and independence are maintained at all times while working in line with Hutchinson Care Homes’ policies and procedures.
Main Duties
Assisting residents with personal care which includes getting dressed, washing and eating
Provide company to the residents.
Provide information to family member regarding care plans in a professional manner
Follow all infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures.
Report accidents, incidents, or concerns immediately to management.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Be flexible to work across different care homes within the group when required.
Ensuring the needs and wishes of the residents are met
Working with other health care professionals to provide a high standard of care
Attend all necessary training when instructed
Participate in any other duties detailed by management that may be considered relevant
Report and record any breaks or damages to your Manager/or Deputy Manager
Demonstrate a positive attitude when carrying out duties and be willing to put in an extra effort if an unexpected situation arrives
To attend staff meetings as and when required
Always maintain confidentiality
You may be required to work in other homes in the business at short notice to assist with staffing levels
Administration Duties
Keep Residents Care records up to date and inform the staff nurse, Home Manager/Deputy Manager of any changes
Keep accurate, timely, and legible records of residents’ care and medical needs
Involvement with resident Care plans and keeping records up to date, accurate, meticulous and legible
Report any changes in residents’ health, wellbeing, or behaviour to the Nurse/Manager promptly
Record and report any damages or maintenance issues.

What you will need
Required criteria
* Compassionate and caring disposition

* At least 1 year experience working in healthcare
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to residents’ needs.
* Punctual, well-presented, and trustworthy
* Physically fit to meet the demands of the role
* Team player with a reliable and professional approach

* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
