Senior Legal Assistant - Lease Extension & Freehold Enfranchisement Team
* Annual Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (DOE)
* Location: Brighton
* Job Type: Full-time
Join our specialist Lease Extension and Freehold Enfranchisement team as a Senior Legal Assistant. This role is integral to supporting our busy practice within the wider Dispute Resolution department. We handle a high volume of work relating to statutory and voluntary lease extensions, collective freehold enfranchisement, and associated property documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in property law support or a strong interest in this technical area.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Assist with the day-to-day running of lease extension and enfranchisement matters.
* Prepare and format documents specific to lease extension and freehold enfranchisement processes.
* Conduct audio typing via digital dictation.
* Utilize the Land Registry Portal to obtain title documents, file applications, and monitor progress.
* Manage client onboarding and assist with collecting key information.
* Assist with completions, arrange payments, and draft completion statements.
* Manage emails, take client calls, and ensure smooth day-to-day support of fee earners.
* Maintain accurate billing records and assist with invoicing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a law firm, within property/conveyancing, real estate, or leasehold services.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work methodically across multiple ongoing matters.
* Excellent organisational skills, with confidence managing statutory timelines.
* Clear and professional communication skills when liaising with clients and third parties.
* A positive, “can do” attitude and the willingness to learn a specialist area of law.
* Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and case management systems (Proclaim experience desirable but not essential - training provided).
