Radnage House Stables is a busy livery, competition and rehabilitation yard set in the heart of the Chiltern hills. We provide part and full livery and deliver top class care for the horses stabled with us. From International horses through to rehab horses, the wide range of duties means that no 2 days are ever the same!
This is a a great opportunity for a responsible person to work in a beautiful environment with a dedicated team. Our requirements obviously include all normal yard duties (feeding, turn out, bring in, mucking out, filling hay nets, cleaning water drinkers and sweeping), but we also value specialist skills such as foaling experience, vet nursing, 3.5T horse box driver, HGV driver, teaching qualifications, interacting with clients, teaching our students, bringing on youngsters and schooling competition horses.
The well being of our horses is paramount so the successful applicants must genuinely care about the horses, have strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, client management, and enjoying handling a wide variety of horses including riding club and competition horses. Overall it is essential that the right candidate has a passion for horses and all aspects of being part of a tidy well organise, highly functioning yard. You will be expected to be skilled at equine first aid and recognise lameness so that the correct processes are followed until the vet arrives.
There is riding available depending on level of experience, rehabilitation training and competition grooming at both National and International competitions for the right applicant. We are looking for a fun, willing person who will fit in with our team, and successful business. You will require a good sense of humour, be reliable and responsible. Hours and days are flexible. There is modern clean live in accommodation (flat) on site for the right person.
Requirements
Flexibility is key, as we often have other activities going on. For example, the yard has photo shoots (both equine and fashion based) and acts as a filming location so there always lots of activity. We also hold regular vet and physio clinics, training days and courses.
