Astute's Power team is partnering with leading with a Power Generation company to recruit an Operations Technician for its Energy from Waste site in Milton Keynes.
The Operations Technician role comes with a starting salary of up to £52,000 + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Technician role
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will:
* Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit requirements and report any incidents or breaches.
* Operate the plant safely and efficiently during normal operations, start-up, shutdown, and emergencies.
* Follow all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems and relevant legislation.
* Participate in site HSE initiatives and contribute to safety forums.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to maintain optimal plant performance.
* Mentor and train new personnel on plant operations and compliance standards.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including shift handovers and maintenance records.
* Support continuous safe and efficient plant operation through proactive monitoring and communication.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
NVQ Level 3 or National Diploma in a relevant discipline (essential).
WAMITAB Level 4 in Managing Thermal Treatment Facilities (desirable).
Strong technical knowledge of combustion and boiler processes.
Proven experience operating a heavy industrial plant, ideally a power station
Ability to meet KPI targets and demonstrate relevant technical competency.
