Assistant ER Advisor (Absence)
You will be joining a team of talented, solution-focused, and driven employee relations specialists. Our purpose is to support our managers in making Mitie a great place to work. We advise and coach managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in line with legislation and best practices, while balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Manage your own caseload as an SME in Absence Management, using your knowledge of ER and employment law, from receipt to conclusion.
2. Support and coach People Managers to effectively manage short-term and long-term absence cases to improve attendance.
3. Provide HR advice regarding absence management policies, practices, and procedures.
4. Handle cases related to death-in-service, liaising with support departments and supporting next of kin.
5. Utilize technology, including case management systems, to deliver quality service remotely.
6. Work with a variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private.
7. Be part of a customer service-focused People Support team within Mitie's central HR function.
8. Support triaging ER cases received from the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in Employee Relations with a focus on absence management, understanding the end-to-end process.
* Possession of or willingness to obtain a CIPD qualification, with support for studies provided.
* Proficiency in IT skills, including MS Word and MS Excel; basic knowledge of HR systems is advantageous.
* Strong customer service orientation, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Effective case management skills, capable of handling competing priorities.
* Well-organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines and attention to detail.
