GSL Education Hull are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker / Site Assistant to work in a well-established secondary school in the Driffield area. This role is ideal for someone with strong practical skills and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain the school premises, buildings, and grounds to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
* Carry out general repairs, maintenance, and minor improvement works as required.
* Ensure the security of the premises, including opening and locking up the school each day.
* Oversee heating, lighting, and water systems, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
* Support the smooth running of the school by setting up rooms, moving equipment, and assisting with deliveries.
* Manage waste disposal, recycling, and grounds maintenance duties.
* Conduct regular health and safety checks, including fire safety systems and risk assessments.
* Liaise with contractors and external services as needed.

Key Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, or Maintenance Operative, ideally in a school or similar environment.
* Good practical and DIY skills with an understanding of general building maintenance.
* Strong awareness of health and safety procedures and site security.
* Dependable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
