The Opportunity
The Maintenance Engineer role is crucial, supporting operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and enhancing equipment reliability. The role involves providing preventative and reactive multi-skilled maintenance activities in a fast-paced GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
This position reports to the Engineering Shift Manager.
Shifts will rotate weekly from 6 am - 2 pm and 2 pm - 10 pm.
Role Responsibilities
What will you be doing? The role has a broad scope, and the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Executing a planned maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and asset performance improvement.
* Collaborating with production and QA teams to carry out work orders, ensuring timely completion and detailed asset history documentation.
* Minimizing unscheduled downtime by responding swiftly to breakdowns and monitoring line performance post-incident.
* Leading root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence of issues.
* Performing calibration services following work order instructions, procedures, and standards.
* Maintaining cGMP compliance and health & safety standards across the site.
* Continuously improving equipment safety, efficiency, changeovers, and reducing downtime.
The Ideal Candidate

* Self-motivated and proactive.
* Experienced with production equipment such as filling lines, conveyors, packaging lines, autoclaves, tablet pressers, granulators, WFI, and heat sterilizers.
* Familiar with working in regulated environments, ideally pharmaceutical, food, or fine chemicals.
* Knowledgeable about GXP standards in engineering.
* Possessing a level 3 NVQ or equivalent in an engineering-related subject or industry experience.
