The Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the school’s specialist team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and independence, helping to make each day structured, positive, and enjoyable. Working alongside skilled teachers, therapists, and support staff, you’ll help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and take steps towards independence.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing classroom and one-to-one support tailored to individual needs
2. Supporting communication, sensory, and social interaction strategies
3. Creating a safe, calm, and positive environment where pupils can thrive
4. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide joined-up support
What we’re looking for:
5. Experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential)
6. A calm, patient, and caring approach
7. Confidence in adapting support for different needs and abilities
8. A commitment to helping every pupil progress at their own pace
9. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential with strong SEND experience
