Job Title: Senior Healthcare Assistant
The Senior Healthcare Assistant is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, responsible for:
1. Delivering effective and competent care under the guidance of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and according to the patient's care plan.
2. Being fully aware of the patients' needs over a 24-hour period.
3. Monitoring, reporting, and maintaining a safe, healthy, and secure workplace by adhering to relevant legislation and trust policies, including the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (1985), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (1985), European H&S Regulations (1992), and the Food Act (1996).
4. Consistently providing a patient-focused service that promotes independence.
5. Communicating routine information effectively to colleagues, patients, carers, and external contacts via oral, written, or electronic means.
6. Offering appropriate support and advice to patients and their carers.
7. Adapting communication strategies to suit challenging situations and individual needs.
8. Promoting and facilitating therapeutic activities to help patients maintain and improve independence.
9. Performing physical health checks and documenting findings using the early warning scoring system (NEWS), reporting changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.

1. Undertaking daily tasks as assigned by the Nurse or healthcare professional in charge.
2. Participating in relevant training, supervision, and appraisal sessions.
3. Balancing job responsibilities across a 7-day working pattern.
