Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a SEND school based in Durham.
The school provides specialist support for children and young people aged 2–19, catering to a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Operating across two sites, from early years through to sixth form, the academy supports learners with diverse needs, including autism and learning difficulties. It offers a variety of educational pathways, delivered by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing the very best experiences for every child.
Applications are welcomed from recent graduates, as well as individuals with relevant experience or transferable skills who are keen to make a meaningful difference.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position given a successful trial day.

The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
* Have experience working in a transferable role
* Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
* Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
* Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
* Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
