About the Direct Payment Holder
A 24-year-old autistic man is seeking a Support Worker. He enjoys films, going to the cinema, and playing computer games.
Hours and rate of pay
8 hours per week (days and times flexible – daytime or evening)
£15.50 per hour, with a possible increase following a successful probation period for the right person
Location
St Neots (PE19)
DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
* Safeguarding Adults
* Introduction to first aid
* Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would be doing…
Travel and route training to build confidence accessing the local community
Identifying activities of interest and supporting participation in them
Building confidence in social interactions
Practicing money skills such as paying for items in shops
Exploring employment opportunities
Exploring voluntary opportunities
Required skills and experience
Experience of supporting individuals with autism is beneficial but not essential – a willingness to learn is important
Life experience and understanding of the challenges autism can bring
Patient, kind, and encouraging, with the ability to promote independence
Engaging and interactive, helping to develop skills while supporting personal growth
