Salary & Location
Salary: National £35,335 - £37,847, London £40,014 - £42,859. Base location will determine exact pay.
Locations: Leeds, London (base at 102 Petty France London or 5 Wellington Place Leeds). Occasional travel between locations may be required.
Working Pattern
Full Time, Part Time, Part Time/Job Share, Flexible Working. Hybrid model available: remote work balanced with office time (minimum 60% onsite).
Responsibilities
* Provide secretariat function and coordination across the CJS Governance landscape.
* Support planning, policy development, and quality assurance.
* Draft and coordinate high‑quality communications, including briefings and ministerial correspondence.
* Establish strong working relationships with MoJ and cross‑CJS teams.
* Contribute to the growth and development of the directorate.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of policy development and delivery.
* Strong oral and written communication skills and editorial expertise with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent planning and organizing skills.
* Ability to work at pace and prioritize to meet deadlines in a high‑profile environment.
* Confidence in building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide variety of people.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of the CJS and familiarity with the landscape of CJS reform across government.
* Experience supporting senior staff to improve effectiveness.
* Knowledge and experience of secretariat practices.
* Experience of drafting high‑quality minutes.
