Join to apply for the SEN / SEND Tutor, Bedfordshire role at Targeted Provision.

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Bedfordshire.

Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We support children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Bedfordshire. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role offers flexible hours and a supportive, child-centred environment.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Clients are referred by local authorities and schools and may require holistic support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


Tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions meeting individual needs and advancing educational and social-emotional growth
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


Requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK residency and right to work (including for remote/online assignments)

It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.


Employment Status

* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a set amount of work nor expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
