Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves general maintenance across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and supporting project work. You will play a key part in creating safe, functional environments for our staff and service users.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out general maintenance tasks across school, care homes, and office settings.
* Inspect, repair, and maintain fire doors in line with regulatory standards.
* Perform window replacements, painting and decorating, and minor carpentry tasks.
* Assist with project work, including refurbishments and installations.
* Fit household items and ensure all fixtures are safe and secure.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any compliance issues.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in general maintenance roles within a regulated environment (e.g., education, health, or social care).
* Knowledge and practical experience with fire doors, window replacement, and painting/decorating.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and working with vulnerable people.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable:
* Experience in minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
