An exciting opportunity has arisen in the recently amalgamated Tissue Viability/Lymphoedema and Leg Ulcer Service. The post holder will assist and work independently within the Leg Ulcer/Lymphoedema team as part of the Tissue Viability service.
The candidate will work within community and hospital settings, providing specialist wound care advice, organising workload, and promoting clinical excellence with a focus on the assessment and management of leg ulcers, lymphoedema, and lower limb wounds, including multilayer bandaging as appropriate.
The role involves exercising leadership and judgment to ensure good clinical practice and high standards of care to meet service demand. You will work within an integrated department and be involved in ongoing changes and developments within the organisation.
The post holder has daily responsibility and accountability, with or without direct supervision from the Tissue Viability Lead Nurse. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing care using research and evidence-based practice, particularly in tissue viability and lower limb issues such as lymphoedema, compression therapy strategies, and multilayer bandaging.
You will supervise, lead, inform, and delegate staff as appropriate, utilising nursing skills and resources effectively as directed by the lead nurse. This includes managing chronic oedema, conducting complex wound assessments, Doppler assessments, and leg ulcer management.
