We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join us at a skilled level in a division that drives the business forward through providing a best‑in‑class engineering service to our customers.
What you will do
The service engineer performs required preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS/Cantel product lines and field troubleshooting primarily in their service area in the country. Tasks include disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting, calibrating, and certifying equipment ready for use using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (i.e., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, etc.).
Duties
* Perform administrative duties as assigned including computer synchronization daily, complete service reports, and maintain tools and parts inventory to prescribed levels as required by Team Leaders and Service Manager.
* Use corporate applications (Siebel, Oracle, Sales Connection, others) to handle daily activity.
* Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers, support functions and the sales organization.
* Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees. Follow customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
* Provide solutions to customers to enhance sales and growth in the field through effective positioning of STERIS/Cantel products and services, identifying opportunities, and passing leads to management and sales.
* Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager. This position description is not an exhaustive list of duties but is intended to give a general indication of work undertaken and will vary in the light of changing demands within the department. Substantive changes in the range of work will be carried out on consultation with the post holder.
Required Experience
* Minimum of 2 years industry related experience and a general knowledge of operating washing and sterilize processing units.
* Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Experience
* Good troubleshooting skills as well as a proven organizational attitude.
* Computer literacy with a good standard of education and good oral and written communication.
* Sufficient technical knowledge of the English language.
* Completion of a recognized mechanical, electrical, or electronic technical training scheme.
