What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
As a TA on the Wirral, your role may include:
* Supporting teachers with engaging and inclusive lessons across a variety of age groups
* Encouraging pupils to participate, stay focused and grow in confidence
* Providing 1:1 or small-group support to help pupils make academic, social and emotional progress
* Using positive behaviour strategies to keep the classroom calm and supportive
* Helping prepare classroom resources, organise learning spaces and maintain displays
* Supporting children with additional needs to ensure they feel included and able to learn at their own pace
* Following safeguarding procedures and prioritising pupil wellbeing at all times
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need previous school experience to apply. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including:
* Care or support environments
* Youth work or mentoring
* Sports coaching
* Health and social care
* Customer-facing and community roles
We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* Patience, resilience and a calm, encouraging approach
* Confidence to use initiative while still working well as part of a team
* A genuine passion for helping children learn and succeed
* An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
