Overview
The Department of Medicine for Older People has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 nurse manager to oversee the safe and efficient running of our outpatient department. This is an exciting time for the department as we develop our Frailty Hub and expand our outpatient services, so we can focus on service improvement and admission avoidance for older people. This is an opportunity to engage with patients and develop services based on their needs and priorities with a focus on high quality care.

Location: Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool. Contract: 12 months (Fixed term). Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £47,810 - £54,710 per annum. Job reference: 287-BMED-43-25. Site: LUH - 1 General Staffing (AFC posts).
Job responsibilities
This post holder is responsible and accountable for the management and delivery of patient care and the operational management of areas within the Outpatient Department. Professional Relationships include the Multidisciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department, Lead Nurse, all disciplines of staff within the Trust, and external agencies. You will fulfil and maintain the operational function of the Outpatient Department.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration
* Teaching and assessing qualification
* Post registration qualification in speciality
Experience
* Demonstrable experience at Band 6 level
* Evidence of effective ward management and leadership skills
* Evidence of staff development, including pre and post reg students
* Evidence of managing change
* Evidence of developing standards of nursing care through clinical benchmarking
Knowledge
* Understanding and application of clinical governance
