Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced senior nurse to join our acute mental health directorate. As a Nurse Consultant you will work autonomously, managing your own workload whilst continuing to develop and apply your knowledge and skills to a broad range of clinically and professionally challenging and complex situations. You will provide expert knowledge to address the needs of people requiring treatment during the acute phase of a mental illness. You'll promote recovery and support people to complete advance care plans in line with the changes expected in the Mental Health Act.
You will have direct patient contact and this will be agreed as part of job planning. You will support and inspire colleagues and enhance the development of clinical practice. The post holder will be a senior clinical leader within the Trust and as such will undertake some work which cuts across other clinical areas.
If you are a registered nurse with advanced level experience of mental health care, hold a non-medical prescribing qualification, and you wish to utilise and develop your skills to lead strategic developments that will monitor and improve the quality of health care and the effectiveness of practice, then we would welcome your application to join us.

Main duties of the job

They will lead the development of initiatives and strategies utilising a high degree of personal autonomy. The post holder will advise, support and lead colleagues at an individual, team and organisational level by utilisation of their advanced knowledge and skill
