Join Our Caring Community as a Senior Care Assistant Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others? We're seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in Cwmbran, providing day-to-day care and support to our residents while leading with compassion, professionalism, and purpose.
About the Role: In this fulfilling role, you'll work closely with management and colleagues to deliver high standards of personal, emotional, and social care. You'll also take on supervisory responsibilities, support care planning, and help foster an environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being.
What You'll Do:
Deliver person-centred care and support across day shifts
Supervise and support junior staff in creating a homely, inclusive environment
Assist with medication management, health monitoring, and care documentation (as authorised)
Liaise with external professionals (GPs, District Nurses, Social Workers)
Take the lead in safeguarding, risk assessment, and care planning duties
Build strong relationships with residents, acting as Keyworker where required
Be actively involved in daily activities and promote resident engagement
Always uphold our values and regulatory care standards
What We're Looking For:
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (essential)
NVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards it (desirable)
Proven experience in a care environment (elderly care preferred)
Confidence in leading a shift and supporting a team
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Medication trained and competent in safe administration
Experience in writing care plans and completing risk assessments
A compassionate, practical, and resident-focused attitude
Willingness to support flexible rota patterns, including weekends and holidays
Desirable Skills: First Aid, Manual Handling, and understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
