Farnworth Rose is seeking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to support the work of our established conveyancing department at our Nelson office.
This is a full-time role which would suit someone looking for an exciting, fast-paced and friendly environment with high quality work for a range of residential property matters.
Main Purpose of Job
* To work competently as a Conveyancing Assistant in the Residential Conveyancing Department.
* To support a team of Conveyancers allowing them to progress their case load in an efficient manner.
* To support the firm in growing its client base and the profile of the firm through the promotion and delivery of an excellent service and by getting involved with business development.
Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks
All administrative work relating to pre and post completion of conveyancing matters to include but not limited to;
* Administrative support to all senior members of the team
* Liaising with internal team members, clients, introducers, brokers, estate agents, solicitors, mortgage lenders and other third parties as directed to progress matters
* Providing regular updates to clients and third parties both by email and by phone
* Greet clients in reception to take relevant paperwork from them
* Liaising with mortgage lenders to request and chase up relevant information
* Maintaining and managing own and senior colleagues' diaries and appointments
* Achieving agreed team targets (as appropriate)
* Proactively managing own tasks, daily workflow, post and e-mails
* File management in line with company policy and legal compliance
* Operating the case management system and other digital platforms
* Undertaking any specific training when required to do so and overall to take responsibility towards self-development
* To understand and comply at all times with the obligations set out by the Solicitors Regulations Authority and other relevant regulatory bodies, particularly the SRA Standards & Regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules and Quality Conveyancing Scheme requirements.
Person Specification
* 6-12 months conveyancing experience is preferable
* Ability to communicate effectively in a clear and friendly manner at all levels, through all mediums
* Excellent client facing skills
* Self-motivated, proactive and friendly team player
* Strong organisational skills and an excellent eye for detail
* Ability to work independently under supervision
* Punctuality and excellent time management skills
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks within a time-scale
* Flexible individual who is able to respect and support others within the team
* Ability to produce work to high standards and a high level of accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines
* Quick learner: good IT skills, ability to use IT systems and learn new IT skills as required
* Positive "can-do" mature attitude
