About the Team
The UK Publisher Operations team is part of Content Operations and partners with the country’s leading broadcasters, digital publishers, and entertainment, sport, and news organisations to fuel content growth and scale on TikTok.
Overview of Role
The Publisher Manager will partner with a portfolio of news, lifestyle and learning organisations to help them maximise their impact on TikTok and increase high-quality content supply. In this role, you will drive publisher growth by advising on short‑form video strategy, optimising content performance, and supporting key initiatives that align with team objectives and product priorities. You’ll serve as a trusted partner to newsrooms, educational organisations and publishers, ensuring they are equipped to use TikTok effectively while contributing to the overall health and success of the news ecosystem on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and nurture trusted, long‑term relationships with leading UK informative content publishers, from major TV broadcasters, educational organisations and digital outlets to national and local newspapers – to drive their growth and success on TikTok.
* Develop and execute ambitious partnership strategies that position TikTok as a key platform for content discovery, engagement, and audience development.
* Act as the UK market expert for global partnerships and product teams, translating publisher needs and industry trends into actionable insights that inform product and policy direction.
* Partner closely with Central, Regional, and Local teams to align account management, business reviews, and growth plans, ensuring consistent and impactful results.
* Support content acquisition efforts and lead onboarding for new publishers, expanding the breadth of content and enhancing the overall user experience.
* Equip partners to make the most of TikTok’s tools, analytics, and best practices, driving stronger content performance, engagement, and business outcomes.
* Engage and support publishers at scale through effective community management and streamlined communication channels.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
* Deep, up‑to‑date expertise in the news industry, including key publishers, market forces, audience behaviours, and emerging trends.
* At least 5 years of experience in journalism or the broader media landscape, with a strong record of success in social media, and/or partnership/relationship management.
* Practical experience working with social media platforms, or a strong understanding of how news organisations, publishers and social platforms collaborate to grow audiences and build sustainable models.
* Outstanding communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage confidently and effectively with partners and cross‑functional teams around the world.
Preferred Qualification(s)
* Strategic, insights‑driven thinker who uses data to make pragmatic, high‑impact decisions.
* A balanced collaborator and self‑starter: comfortable leading projects end‑to‑end while thriving within cross‑functional environments.
* Demonstrated success in partner management, account support, and cultivating long‑term, trust‑based business relationships.
* Thrives in fast‑moving settings; flexible, solutions‑oriented, and able to navigate shifting priorities while managing both operational and strategic responsibilities.
