Job Overview:
The role of the general op is to carry out responsibilities to ensure all areas from frying, flavouring, packing machines, palletising and case packing are to specification as laid out in company standards.
Salary:
£28,766.58 per annum + 23.5% shift allowance
Responsibilities
* Working as part of the team to keep the relevant zone (process/flavour/packaging/palletising) in control and at a green standard against all metrics (Safety, Quality, Costs and Production Plan Delivery)
* Operating equipment to the required operating standards safely and cost effectively
* Completing the required food safety and quality testing throughout the shift to ensure total compliance against standards
* Taking ownership of the relevant area by keeping it clean, safe to operate and audit ready at all times
* Taking ownership and action of tests and checks that fall outside of standards
* Escalating issues around safety, quality, costs or production plan delivery issues to team leader or shift engineer
* Completion of relevant paperwork to the right standards on time in full
* Completion of changeovers and clean downs to expected standards on time in full
* Pro – active approach to safety, quality, costs and production plan delivery by escalation of issues and ideas
Qualifications
* Previous experience in the manufacturing environment is preferable
* An acceptable level of English understanding to be able to comply with and understand all verbal and written communication
* Numerically literate, being able to use calculator and understand percentages.
* Being able to identify non-conformances in the working area.
* Being able to articulate and communicate all performance issues and opportunities.
* Good understanding of KPIs, and understanding how a factory works
