Overview
Senior Residential Support Workers are sought within our Prevention and Partnership Service. We are recruiting two Senior Residential Support Workers to join our team at 22 Levick Court, Middlesbrough. Levick Court is a 24-hour in-house short stay break service for adults with learning disabilities. Short stays can range from one night to several weeks, depending on individual and family/carer needs. We are registered with the CQC and rated Good. The building is purpose-built to meet a wide range of needs, with 16 en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, a multi-purpose activity room, a sensory room, a media room and secure gardens.
We are seeking a focused, motivated and positive individual with experience supervising/managing people, services and quality within learning disability services. You should be operating at a senior level and have prior experience supervising in a care setting. Your role is to oversee and maintain the care of individuals who access our service, working closely with the registered manager to achieve this.
Responsibilities
* 1:1 supervision/appraisal to a team of staff; manage the day-to-day running of the service.
* Deputise in the absence of the managers.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory bodies.
* Assess and monitor the quality of care provided.
* Complete assessments and reports as required (auditing).
* Support administration tasks and lead the team by example; work on the floor with staff.
* Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service in the absence of management; ensure policy, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to within specified timeframes.
* Maintain a good understanding of CQC and Health and Safety legislation.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience supervising in a care setting and working at a senior level.
* Experience in learning disability services and promoting person-centred care.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels; strong time management and organisational abilities; ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to oversee administration tasks while leading on the ground with staff.
* Understanding of CQC and Health and Safety legislation.
