We are seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our large-scale fabrication and manufacturing client in Heanor, Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to follow specifications accurately. You will play a crucial part in assembling components and ensuring the quality of finished products.
Flexible Hours: 39 hours
Monday–Thursday: 07:00am–16:00pm or 08:00am–17:00pm
Friday: 07:00am–15:00pm or 08:00am–16:00pm
Responsibilities
* Fabricate and weld work on steel up to 25mm
* Assemble parts and structures by following and interpreting detailed engineering drawings/blueprints.
* Execute tasks with accuracy, safety, and professionalism, working to a high standard
* Collaborate with team members to improve fabrication processes and efficiency. Working both independently and as part of a team
* Operate power tools and hand tools to fabricate metal components according to specifications.
* Conduct quality checks on completed welds and fabricated items to ensure they meet industry standards.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder ideally with previous experience to coded levels
* Strong fabrication skills and MIG welding proficiency
* Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Welding/Fabrication preferred
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Excellent team player with strong communication skills
* Must have own PPE
* Strong engineering awareness essential
* Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and basic maths for measurements and calculations.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Capability to lift heavy materials as/when required.
