About the Role
The business is recruiting for a Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic structures team. With offices and design hubs across Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and more, you'll be well-placed to contribute to projects that matter.
In this leadership role, you'll drive the delivery of technically sound civil engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and play a hands-on part in some of the country's most significant road and infrastructure schemes.
You'll be contributing to major, multi-year contracts across Scotland's road network, as well as supporting civil design projects for Transport Scotland, local authorities, and industry partners.
Key Focus Areas
* Lead the development and delivery of engineering designs in line with technical standards and project specifications
* Support the preparation of high-quality documentation, calculations, and drawings
* Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers
* Manage financial aspects of your projects, including cost control and resourcing
* Engage directly with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication
* Contribute to tendering, bid submissions, and business development activities
* Promote health and safety excellence in all aspects of design and project work
What Youll Need
* Proven experience in civil or structural engineering, ideally in a leadership or senior technical role
* Excellent technical design skills and the ability to work independently or guide a team
* Experience managing health and safety responsibilities within the built environment
* Comfortable being the go-to engineering contact on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
* Familiarity with industry-standard software for design and analysis
* Chartered or Incorporated status (or actively working toward it) is a strong advantage
