Overview
The post holder is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Services Lead Technicians in the provision and development of the technical services within the Pharmacy Department, Wythenshawe Hospital at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. You will contribute to the future development of the technical service in accordance with departmental strategic and business plans. You will lead and manage the technical team within the Dispensary Services and coordinate staffing arrangements to ensure appropriate skill mix and staff allocation throughout the Dispensary. You will deliver agreed levels of pharmaceutical care to patients within the trust and support safe and effective dispensing systems to the legal and accepted standards of practice.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the technical team within the Dispensary Services.
* Coordinate staffing arrangements to ensure appropriate skill mix and staff allocation throughout the Dispensary.
* Deliver agreed levels of pharmaceutical care to patients and ensure safe and efficient dispensing systems in line with standards of practice.
* Review systems of work, identify risks, and develop Standard Operating Procedures to maintain service safety and efficiency.
* Develop and motivate technicians and assistants, building key working relationships within a diverse team.
* Drive service improvements and contribute to medicines optimisation projects.
* Undertake appraisals and provide training and education to staff within your area of expertise.
* Support staff with HR matters following Trust Policy.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to support departmental objectives and patient care.

* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and ambitious with excellent interpersonal skills and a focus on staff development and organisational change.
* Forward-thinking, dedicated, and enthusiastic about developing the dispensary service at Wythenshawe Hospital.
* Excellent communication and project management experience with a track record of service development.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, with attention to risks and continuous improvement.
* Experience in training and education within the relevant area of expertise.
* Ability to support staff with HR issues in line with Trust Policy.
