Description Job Title: Higher Apprentice Mechanical / Electrical Engineer Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire) Salary: Starting from £22,500 with annual progression through the scheme duration What You’ll Be Doing Produce engineering drawings, data and documentation in order to facilitate the manufacture, installation, testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis, maintenance, overhaul and removal of electrical and data systems on maritime vessels This covers propulsion machinery, weapons, sensors, and auxiliary systems (such as water, air conditioning, electronic equipment including programmable logic controllers, power generation and distribution) Gaining knowledge and expertise of the design and use of electrical, electronic and combat systems to ensure safe embodiment of Capability Insertions Office-based drawing and document research, along with surveys and validation of systems onboard complex warships What Qualification will you get? Qualification Requirements 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4/AC which must include Maths & English & a Science/Technical Subject AND 1 of the following: 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above. 1 subject must be Maths and 1 subject must be in Engineering or a Science/Technical subject OR An equivalent level 3 vocational qualification (must be a STEM related subject that aligns to the scheme/area you are applying for and worth a minimum of 96 UCAS points)
