Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Liverpool, Merseyside Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Make a Real Difference - Support Children with SEN in Liverpool We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary/special school in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social/emotional difficulties Assist teachers in delivering creative, tailored lessons and interventions Help manage behaviour and provide emotional support when needed Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and parents to support individual learning plans Encourage independence and celebrate small steps of progress The Ideal Candidate Will: Have previous experience supporting children with SEN (in education, care or community settings) Be calm, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with pupils Understand the importance of consistency, patience, and praise Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) - desirable but not essential Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service preferred) We Offer: A friendly and inclusive school environment Continuous professional development and training opportunities The chance to work with a passionate team committed to making a difference Dedicated support from experienced senior leaders and SEN staff If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to work in a rewarding and varied role, we would love to hear from you.
