We are looking for a reliable and proactive Workshop Operative to support the day-to-day operations of our workshops in Thornbury. This role is key to ensuring smooth operational processes and a safe, organised working environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone practical and hands-on who is keen to develop their skills within a mechanical/technical environment.
Key Duties
* Receiving and unloading incoming deliveries
* Assisting with picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch
* Assisting with regular stock checks
* Labelling, storing and organising materials and components
* Keeping warehouse and workshop areas clean, tidy and organised
* Assisting with ad hoc collections and deliveries as required
* Supporting workshop engineers with movement of materials and parts
* Ensuring responsible waste disposal and recycling
* Reporting damaged or missing items
* Complying with all Health & Safety policies
* Providing general warehouse and facilities support as needed
Skills & Experience
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Proactive mindset with ability to use initiative
* Problem-solving ability and independent thinking
* Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
* Good numeracy and literacy
* Comfortable working independently and within a team
* Basic IT skills (email, Microsoft Office, stock systems)
* Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
