Position Summary:

The Strength & Conditioning Intern will assist the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning in teaching all aspects of the Strength and Conditioning program. Primary responsibilities include teaching the philosophy and techniques of strength and conditioning to student athletes. The successful candidate will have experience training athletes. The intern will have a working knowledge of and be able to teach and critique performance enhancement theories and techniques (in the education of strength, power and conditioning, nutrition, speed, quickness and agility). Additionally, this position will assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all performance facilities. UD Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA, the Atlantic 10, and the Pioneer Football Conference. This is a 10 month full-time position with benefits and may require some evening and weekend work.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree,
* Experience training athletes,
* CSCS and/or CSCCa certification or within 12 months of completing,
* Valid driver’s license, maintains a low-risk driving record, and able to be insured by the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master’s Degree,
* Experience training collegiate athletes
* 2 years of strength and conditioning experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of speed development
* Former Collegiate Student-Athlete
* Able to demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong computer skills
