As Head of Risk & Compliance, you will shape the firm’s operations and protect its reputation by building robust, intelligent and commercially aware frameworks.
About the role
Your responsibilities include:
* Identifying and mitigating risk across the business and ensuring that policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
* Acting as a key compliance advisor, balancing regulatory requirements with commercial awareness.
* Overseeing AML and KYC processes, COLP responsibilities, and all aspects of data protection and GDPR compliance.
* Conducting regular file reviews and regulatory audits.
* Handling complaints and claims professionally.
* Managing CQS and panel memberships, delivering risk and compliance training to staff.
* Supporting the firm’s Professional Indemnity renewal process.
About you
We’re looking for a qualified solicitor with:
* 5+ years PQE and strong experience in Risk & Compliance within a legal environment.
* Deep understanding of legal and regulatory obligations.
* Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Confidence advising at all levels.
* Strong IT skills and openness to innovation.
* Engaging, approachable, natural people person.
* Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
* Positive, proactive, solutions‑focused, calm under pressure, able to meet deadlines.
