We are now looking for a Climate Change Manager (Scope 3), with a passion for sustainability and a 'can do' attitude, to help us achieve our Net Zero commitment. Within our Commercial Sustainability team, you will be responsible for delivering the department's Scope 3 climate KPIs, working with various stakeholders to influence and advance the climate agenda.
This role offers a great opportunity to shape and drive sustainability initiatives at a leading retailer and within a growing team.

What you'll do
1. Lead the development and implementation of the Scope 3 strategy, including KPIs related to data collection, reporting, supplier engagement, decarbonisation initiatives, industry engagement, and deforestation.
2. Develop and lead communication and engagement strategies for progressing the Scope 3 strategy internally and externally, acting as a key contact on climate and deforestation topics.
3. Engage with suppliers to promote decarbonisation initiatives and target development, collaborating closely with buying teams.
4. Enhance our scope 3 climate data collection and reporting, aligning with internal KPIs and external standards such as the WWF Basket.
5. Serve as the technical expert on climate for Lidl GB, staying informed on climate reporting, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
6. Represent Lidl GB in industry forums related to climate and deforestation, identifying opportunities for collaboration and engagement.
7. Collaborate with teams responsible for Scope 1 and 2, Agriculture, Nature, and Human Rights to develop an integrated strategy for supply chain decarbonisation aligned with our Net Zero goals.
8. Manage the implementation of EUDR and UK deforestation legislation across Lidl GB supply chains, ensuring compliance and representation in relevant working groups.
9. Coordinate communication efforts to share updates on Scope 3 projects both internally and externally.
10. Work with buying teams during range reviews and projects to ensure product sourcing aligns with climate commitments.
What you'll need

* Technical knowledge of climate impacts within the food system, legislative landscape, and reporting frameworks
* Excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder engagement and supplier strategies
* Ability to influence and achieve outcomes with stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills, capable of handling complex datasets
* Organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines
