The Role
Thornton Tomasetti’s London office is seeking a talented engineer with good experience in project management to join our growing data centre / mission-critical team. The role will focus on project management and would suit someone keen to take a leading role. Initially, the role will manage data centre projects nationally and internationally, with opportunities to work on other major projects across sectors (including commercial, residential, cultural and sports) in the City of London, mainland Europe and the Middle East.
Candidates should be recently Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status through either the ICE or IStructE routes. The candidate will ideally have experience in delivering Data Centres. The role offers opportunities to grow and develop in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
* Management of other engineers and technicians for the successful delivery of projects.
* Coordination of design work with in-house staff across multiple offices, as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
* Communicate with clients and other design professionals to understand project requirements.
* Assistance with proposals and interaction with potential clients.
* Role may involve some travel within the UK and abroad.
Qualifications
* Degree (Master’s or equivalent preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
* Strong technical skills.
* Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and graphical / sketches.
* Knowledge of current industry software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper) and Microsoft Office.
* 8+ years of experience.
* Candidates should be Chartered in Engineering or Project Management.
