Job Summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust offers training opportunities to complete Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visiting for qualified Nurses and Midwives on a fixed-term 12-month contract. This is at level 7 in conjunction with the University of Derby.
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Training
School Nursing
Contract: Fixed-term for one year (with internal secondment opportunities). Successful candidates will be offered a place subject to funding from Health Education England.
Base: Derby City
Band 5: £30,639 pa, pro-rata training rate for external candidates.
Please obtain prior approval from your current line manager before applying if considering a secondment.
Main duties of the job
The course involves 50/50 theory and practice, both elements are required for NMC registration. Academic study will be at the University of Derby, with practice learning within Derby City School Nursing teams. Holidays are set by the University.
You will work closely with a practice supervisor and be assessed during placement by a practice assessor. You must achieve all competencies academically and practically as per NMC standards. Upon completion, you will be a qualified Specialist Public Health Nurse in School Nursing within a 0-19 children's service division.
