The role As our Corporate Accountant - Rent & Service Charges, you will: Lead & Deliver Take ownership of the Group's annual rent review and service charge setting processes. Manage the administration of rent and service charge systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and maximisation of income. Oversee and develop the Rent & Service Charge Assistant (1 FTE). Analyse & Advise Provide management accounts support, including variance analysis and reporting. Lead on interpreting and implementing changes in rent legislation, S20 requirements, and service charge best practice. Administer sinking funds and ensure transparent, accurate financial information. Collaborate & Influence Bring together colleagues across the Group to deliver cohesive and compliant financial reviews. Work closely with management accountants, budget holders, and service charge officers. Support the production of statutory accounts, reconciliations, and audit requirements. Improve & Innovate Develop better reporting, monitoring, and continuous improvement across the service charge systems. Ensure strong data quality and consistent application of internal processes. About you We're looking for someone who brings: Technical expertise Strong management accounts and budgetary control skills. Significant experience in rent legislation, variable service charges, S20, and sinking funds. Knowledge of IFRS, FRS102, and component accounting. Advanced Excel and experience using financial / housing systems. Experience Providing high‑quality accountancy services within a medium or large organisation. Social housing finance (highly desirable). Presenting complex financial information clearly to varied audiences. Tracing and reconciling financial information across systems. Qualifications AAT qualified, or Part‑qualified CCAB (ACA, ACCA, ICMA, CIPFA), or Qualified by experience. Personal qualities Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
