Salary range: £40,182 - £42,060 p.a. incl. London weighting (plus fantastic benefits!)

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time


Contract Officer – Fire Safety & Asbestos Compliance

We are seeking a dedicated Contract Officer to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of our fire safety and asbestos work, so that our housing stock remains safe, secure, and fully compliant with statutory and regulatory safety obligations.


The Person

* Providing administrative and coordination support across fire safety and asbestos compliance programmes.
* Maintaining accurate records, managing asset data, and monitoring performance and expenditure.
* Tracking and reporting on performance metrics, quality assurance, and compliance testing.
* Managing and recording landlord compliance data and inspection outcomes.
* Acting as a first point of contact for customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
* Supporting the Contract Delivery and Quality Manager on fire safety programme responding to the team inbox enquiries.
* Closing a high volume of FRA actions and meeting high set targets.
* Managing the administration of programmes, attending meetings and taking accurate minutes, ensuring agendas and relevant items for agendas are prepared in advance and follow‑up action is taken as required.
* Maintaining comprehensive records on the Council’s landlord compliance statutory and regulatory obligations per property, ensuring they are accurate and held in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Tracking compliance progress weekly, reporting any slippages or issues immediately and liaising with service providers and stakeholders to rectify issues.
* Administering and drafting responses together with supporting data for Freedom of Information requests.
* Managing and maintaining the key management system and keys contained therein, issuing, recording and receiving keys to and from various stakeholders, and ordering new keys as necessary to maintain adequate stocks.
