A high-performing 11–18 secondary academy in Greater Manchester is seeking a skilled and analytical Data & Assessment Manager to take strategic oversight of whole-school data systems. This is a pivotal role within the school’s leadership infrastructure, supporting senior leaders, heads of department and pastoral teams in driving informed decision-making and measurable student progress. The Role Reporting directly to the Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum & Standards), you will lead the school’s assessment and reporting cycles from end to end. This is not simply a data entry role; it is a strategic post requiring interpretation, presentation and quality assurance. Key responsibilities include: Managing and maintaining the school’s MIS system (SIMS/Arbor equivalent) Designing and overseeing assessment collection cycles across all key stages Producing clear, analytical reports for SLT, governors and trust leaders Supporting Heads of Department with progress tracking and intervention analysis Monitoring attendance, behaviour and attainment data trends Ensuring census returns and statutory data submissions are accurate and timely Training staff in effective use of data dashboards and reporting tools Maintaining GDPR compliance and data integrity across systems You will play a crucial role in ensuring information is not only accurate but meaningful — translating numbers into insight.
