The Team
The team is responsible for the maintenance of several core applications, including Oracle eBusiness Suite. This role supports a wide range of business functions at the University. These add value and effectiveness to business processes and our interaction with stakeholders, as well as supporting statutory requirements for the University. The team works with business users and IT colleagues to develop fixes and solutions to business system requirements.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Applications Analyst to join the Applications Support and Development team within IT Services. This permanent role focuses on the support and maintenance of core enterprise systems, primarily Oracle Financials, within the Enterprise Business Systems portfolio.
The Oracle Applications Analyst will provide day-to-day 1st line support, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. The role will also contribute to the University’s transition from Oracle eBusiness Suite 12.2 to Oracle Fusion, making experience of Fusion highly desirable. The successful candidate will support a range of Oracle Financials modules including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Projects, iProcurement, Purchasing, Inventory, Fixed Assets, and Enterprise Asset Management.
Working closely with business users and IT colleagues, the postholder will investigate issues, gather requirements, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions to support business processes. While the role is primarily operational, there may also be opportunities to contribute to system upgrades and ongoing projects. Responsibilities will also include supporting reporting platforms, interfaces, and related systems.
You will join an established team of functional analysts and developers and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and effectiveness of business-critical finance systems that handle sensitive and confidential data.
The Person
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
* Experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite Financials (version 12.2.10) or a core finance system
* Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Financials modules and application configuration
* Experience providing application support and development to meet business requirements
* Experience applying IT solutions to business processes, ideally within higher education
* Experience working in a customer-focused technical environment
* Ability to work independently, flexibly, and responsibly to support business-critical systems
* Understanding of data protection and information security responsibilities
* Experience supporting interfaces
* Experience working with Oracle, including raising and managing Service Requests (SRs)
Desirable Experience
* Experience of Oracle Fusion
* Knowledge of BI Publisher, Workflow, Version 1, ServiceNow, or Wands for Oracle
* Experience resolving incidents and change requests with customers
* Understanding of the full software implementation lifecycle
* Experience with CEMLIs, Oracle Application Extensions, or personalisations
* Experience working in an ITIL environment
* Ability to analyse and solve problems effectively
* Strong communication skills and experience working within a team
