Suffolk Independent Living Address: Felixstowe, Suffolk Salary: £14.00 per hour Hours: Up to 15 hours per week (term time) or up to 30 hours per week (during school holidays) Contract: Permanent Reference: 0442 About me We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Needs Support Worker to provide care and support to two children, aged 14 and 10, both with autism. The primary focus will be on the 14-year-old, who has severe autism, a learning disability, anxiety, and Type 1 Diabetes. Key responsibilities include: providing individualized support and care assisting with daily routines and activities managing and monitoring diabetes (training will be provided) promoting emotional well-being and positive behaviour occasionally supporting the 10-year-old sibling with mild autism. Although this job description is correct at present, it may change from time to time after negotiation with the post holder. Must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role, sponsorship not available. Summary terms and conditions Female Support Worker required *Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies Hours, days and times of work: Up to 15 hours per week during term time, and up to 30 hours per week during school holidays (flexible scheduling) Pay rate: £14.00 per hour Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement) Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibilitycriteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme. The post is subject to the following Background check: A satisfactory Enhanced with Barred List(s) Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position.
