Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Child Disability Team. This is a Band 7 permanent post for 15 hours per week (2 days) based at Cimla Hospital, Neath.
This is a community-based role requiring travel between clinics, clients' homes, and Local Authority buildings.
The successful applicant will work alongside an established Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure the service offers coverage 5 days a week.
Main Duties
* Participate in assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for patients/clients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Offer specialist support to the team with complex families.
* Work within the ALN framework, delegate responsibilities as needed, and maintain record keeping in line with policies.
* Provide family-centered public health services, assessing emerging ALN needs through a multidisciplinary approach.
* Collaborate with child disability team members, health visiting teams, and voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure transparency and efficiency of the ALN process, attending meetings as needed.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential:
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Masters Degree or equivalent experience in a specialist clinical field
* Knowledge of service improvement and NHS developments
Desirable:
* Teaching or management qualification
Experience
Essential:
* Experience in relevant specialty and working in a multidisciplinary environment
* Experience managing ward areas/departments
* Experience mentoring pre-registration nursing/midwifery students
* Experience undertaking audits and using reflective learning for development
Desirable: Experience participating in research.
Aptitude & Abilities
* Demonstrate alignment with SBU values and behaviors
* Effective leadership and management skills
* Experience delivering presentations
* Proficiency with electronic systems and IT
Additional Information
Welsh language skills are desirable. The ability to communicate in Welsh will be an advantage, but applications in English are equally welcome.
