Maintenance Engineer (Night Shift) - FMCG / Automated Production
Salary £50-52,500 depending on experience + Overtime + Pension + Training & Development
4 nights on, 4 nights off (19:00 - 07:00)
We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and highly automated production environment within the FMCG / food manufacturing sector. This is a permanent night shift position offering the opportunity to work with modern automated equipment while developing your technical skills within a supportive engineering team.
Responsibilities
* Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding and repairs
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and equipment
* Support installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment
* Provide feedback to production teams regarding downtime and corrective actions
* Work collaboratively with production to improve processes and machine performance
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Identify inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and food safety standards
* Support the site's commitment to maintaining audit-ready standards
Skills & Experience
* Multi-skilled engineer with electrical and/or mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)
* A recognised engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous
* Minimum 3 years' experience within an automated production or manufacturing environment
* Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, brewery, or similar fast-paced industry is desirable
* Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently
* Good communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach
* Basic IT literacy
