Senior Engineering Technician role at Arla Foods, Settle Creamery, BD24 9AF. Location: Settle, GB.
What you’ll do
This is an opportunity to work at one of Arla’s largest dairies with state of the art equipment and solid career development. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will respond to breakdowns, participate in planned preventative maintenance, and contribute to CI and project work. You’ll work on equipment including milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators process systems, filers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers, palletisers, de-palletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vision systems, Spectrum TX rejection systems and OEMS such as Siemens, Krones, Tetra Pak, SPX Flow, ISOMA, Hueft, Nepas, Alpla & Grunwald.
You will contribute to Arla’s continued growth and be involved in continuous improvement and project work.
Responsibilities
* Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance on multi-skilled engineering equipment.
* Participate in continuous improvement and project work.
* Work with equipment such as pasteurisers, homogenisers, separators, filers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, conveyors, robots, vision systems, and related controls and OEM equipment.
* Assist with commissioning and support for CIP/cleaning processes and site services as required.
What you’ll need to be successful
* Ambition and drive.
* Strong experience as a multi-skilled engineer (shift/maintenance engineer/engineering technician).
* Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, production, and process environments.
* HNC or apprenticeship trained or proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Experience with fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLCs (Siemens), site services (steam generation, chilled water, compressors), CIP systems.
* Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMIs.
* Time served as a multi-skilled engineer within a manufacturing environment.

Note: Due to the site closure which is estimated to be in the second half of 2027, an enhanced reward and support package is offered to support colleagues. This includes a pro rata retention payment (25% of average annual salary) and a redundancy payment based on length of service. Relocation support is available for colleagues staying with Arla after site closure as well as out-of-service support for those who choose not to stay.
