Electrical Shift Engineer – Equans UK & Ireland
Join us as an Electrical Shift Engineer on our Media City contract in Salford. This permanent full‑time role follows a 4‑on, 4‑off shift pattern (07:00‑19:00).
General Overview
The Electrical Engineer provides all‑round engineering support, maintaining building infrastructure and ensuring compliance with health & safety and building codes. The role acts as the primary coordination point for day‑to‑day activities on site and works closely with the FM management team.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate on‑site engineering activities and ensure 100% uptime criteria.
* Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks and complete related documentation.
* Respond to reactive call‑outs on critical systems.
* Complete compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard.
* Perform minor installation works and testing.
* Maintain accurate daily record keeping and understand escalation procedures.
* Undergo risk assessments, method statements and point‑of‑work risk assessments.
* Manage subcontractors and any shortages or issues during shift.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours call‑out and overtime for on‑site works.
* Communicate clearly with clients, keeping operational and contractual obligations met.
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds training or equivalent.
* Strong communication and planning skills.
* Extensive experience of electrical maintenance and repairs.
* Previous AP/AE experience and related qualifications preferred.
* Evidence of right to work in the UK.
