The post is for a Trust Junior Fellow for Major Trauma (MT). The main purpose of the role is to provide medical support to the major trauma patients on the Major Trauma Unit (MTU), working alongside the Major Trauma sub speciality consultants, the Major Trauma Senior Fellows, the Major Trauma Advanced Clinical Practitioners (MTACP’s) and the Major Trauma Unit nursing and therapy staff.
You will also be expected to review and assess patients with Major Trauma outside of the MTU, advising Trust staff on appropriate treatment and where necessary advise of need to be transferred to the MTU if meeting the admission criteria.
These posts are ideally suited for candidates wishing to progress to higher surgical training in a Major Trauma Sub speciality and are not recognised for CT Training. The job has been structured to provide a fantastic opportunity to expand trauma experience in a Major Trauma centre. Research and audit will be supported and encouraged. The Major Trauma Unit is housed within the T&O care group and the rota will be arranged by T&O.
