Overview
Ocho is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to appoint an experienced QA Contractor for an initial 12-month contract. This is a hands-on Playwright role, supporting a growing engineering function and helping to elevate automated test coverage across the organisation. The contract offers strong potential to move into a permanent role at the end.
The role is Belfast-based with 2 days per week required in a city centre office.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside the Lead QA Engineer and a nearshore QA team to strengthen automated testing capability
Take ownership of Playwright-based test automation and increase overall test coverage
Implement consistent testing patterns and best practice across multiple engineering teams
Collaborate with developers to embed quality earlier in the SDLC
Operate independently and deliver high-quality automation without heavy oversight
The Person We Are Looking For
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright in a commercial environment
Comfortable functioning autonomously in a contractor capacity
Proven experience improving automated test coverage in established engineering teams
Strong communication skills and ability to influence testing standards across teams
Experience working within distributed or nearshore team structures
Contract Details
12-month contract with potential for a permanent opportunity
£375-£400 per day
2 days per week onsite in Belfast city centre
