Support Worker – Specialist Education Setting
Location: Totton, Hampshire
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Working pattern: 5 days per week (Monday–Friday)
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work within a specialist education provision in Totton. This setting supports young people aged 11–19 with additional needs, including autism and associated complex needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives and has previous experience in a similar role.
The Role:
* Supporting students with autism and additional needs in a classroom setting
* Assisting with learning activities and differentiated tasks
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Supporting communication, social development and independence skills
* Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to meet individual EHCP targets
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar support-based role
* Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable)
* A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (mandatory)
