Project Manager - Marine Fabrication & Construction
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager skilled in overseeing heavy fabrication projects from inception to completion, collaborating with industry experts, and managing complex projects for military, new build, and construction clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. On-site leadership at Birkenhead, maintaining client relationships, representing the company in meetings, and collaborating with project teams and senior leadership.
2. Manage projects from initial estimating, design, and planning through to delivery, ensuring compliance with technical, financial, and stakeholder requirements.
3. Lead projects to timely completion by developing detailed project plans, managing resources, timelines, and budgets.
4. Facilitate communication among stakeholders, monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Ensure adherence to industry standards and client specifications, providing regular updates to leadership and clients.
Candidate Profile:
1. Proven experience as a Project Manager in marine fabrication or construction, with the ability to perform under pressure in shipyard environments.
2. Knowledge of shipyard trade skills and scope of work.
3. Experience working with military or defense contractors, understanding MoD contracting and SSRO requirements, is advantageous.
4. Strong leadership, team management, and excellent communication skills.
5. Understanding of project commercial aspects to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
6. APM or Prince 2 qualification preferred, along with proficiency in project management tools.
