Strategy Analyst - Fraud Team
Location: Hybrid in London, UK.
The Team
The Fraud team owns iwoca’s fraud strategy, analytics, and tech systems. The team optimizes iwoca’s fraud decisioning, balancing robust fraud detection and prevention with excellent customer experience and high conversion rates. The team is newly-formed and growing, currently comprising a principal full-stack engineer and a Team Lead.
The Role
The Strategy Analyst position combines strategic and analytical thinking. The successful candidate will conceive, manage, and deliver projects that utilize data to refine iwoca’s fraud strategy, balancing detection with customer conversion. Collaboration with engineers, the Team Lead, and other teams such as Operations, Product, Credit Risk, and Compliance is essential.
Responsibilities
Analysis and Insights
* Implement monitoring to assess the effectiveness of fraud checks, including detection rates, false positives, and investigation times.
* Analyze data to evaluate the impact of fraud prevention measures on risk and customer conversion.
* Translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
Fraud Strategy Optimization
* Design, test, and implement new fraud detection rules to improve prevention and reduce operational overhead.
* Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and data sources.
* Stay updated with industry trends through forums and research.
Collaboration and Influence
* Work closely with engineers to ensure seamless technical implementation.
* Communicate findings to stakeholders across the business for buy-in and decision-making.
* Assist the Team Lead in incident response coordination.
Requirements
Essential
* Experience in strategy roles within finance, tech, product, or consultancy.
* Strong analytical background, demonstrated through education (e.g., STEM degree) or professional experience.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge and innovate.
Bonus
* Experience in fraud strategy and risk management.
* Experience collaborating with tech and data science teams.
Salary
£60,000 - £80,000, with flexibility. Include your salary expectations in your application. Salaries are benchmarked regularly, with quarterly reviews.
