We are seeking a dedicated College Support Officer. In this pivotal role, you will work in the heart of our campus and will be key in maintaining good standards of student behaviour and working collaboratively with our safeguarding and welfare team to ensure students’ safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
* Promote positive student behaviour by being a visible, approachable and reassuring presence on campus.
* Work closely with the safeguarding and welfare team to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of students.
* Be proactive and confident in talking with and approaching students to encourage college expectations being met.
* React to calls for assistance and deal with any situation that may arise, including conflict resolution.
* Deputise for the Security Manager during periods of leave, including attending meetings as appropriate.
* Provide the Security Manager with verbal and written reports on relevant matters that may escalate.
* Ensure training is up to date with current guidance.
Essential Experience
* Experience in de-escalation techniques to resolve difficult situations.
* Demonstrable experience in confidently dealing with challenging situations.
* Ability to manage and liaise with other stakeholders, discreetly and respectfully.
* Building positive communication channels.
* Experience of working in the public sector or educational environment.
Essential Qualifications
* SIA accreditation
* CCTV qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* Level 3 safeguarding qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* Required to undertake First Aid qualification
